Introduction
A guide-led point of contact in Japan.
Taku Kobayashi is the founder of YK Japan. He is based in Osaka Prefecture and works regularly with international travellers and overseas tour operators.
Before working as a guide in Japan, Taku spent around four years with an NGO in the United States and lived in Williamstown, Massachusetts. That experience continues to shape the clear, direct communication he brings to international travel work.
Guide-Led Experience
Planning informed by days on the ground.
Guiding days in a typical year.
Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Koyasan, and Hiroshima.
Regular guiding work provides a practical view of how routes feel to guests: where walking adds up, when transport connections become tiring, and when an itinerary needs more breathing room.
Why YK Japan Was Created
Direct access to local judgment.
YK Japan was established to give overseas travel agencies direct access to practical local judgment and honest communication.
The aim is straightforward: help agency partners understand what will work locally, identify concerns early, and make decisions with someone who knows the routes from first-hand guiding experience.

A practical extension of your team.
Taku works with overseas travel agencies and tour operators that need an English-speaking local contact in Japan. Support can begin with an itinerary review, a guide request, or a question about how a particular day is likely to work.
The working style is personal and professional: clear questions, realistic feedback, and attention to the guest profile behind the brief.
